8 Sep 2009 - Parent Letter September 2009

Dear Parents,

Firstly, I would like to welcome you all to the new school year, an especially big welcome to all our new parents and children. We hope that your learning journey with us will be a very happy and fruitful one. The children have quickly settled in to their new classes and the staff are also back in to the swing with great enthusiasm!

As always at the beginning of the year there is information that I need to pass on or remind you about.

Uniform – I would like to thank you for sending your children to school looking so smart in their school uniform. We would very much like the children to wear a proper uniform and children will be reminded of this if we feel they are wearing something inappropriate.  Black or dark coloured shoes are part of the uniform - brightly coloured, heels or strappy shoes are not comfortable or appropriate for the children to wear at school.

PE – above the knee shorts (not below the knee for safety reasons) and a short sleeved T-shirt. Trainers and long jogging bottoms will be needed for the cooler weather.

The Show Me assemblies will again take place on a Friday morning, we will endeavour to make them a little shorter this year to regain some teaching time!

Friday 16th Oct  -  Classes 4, 5 and 6

Friday 23rd Oct  -  Nursery Classes 1, 2 and 3

Half Term

Friday 6th Nov   -  Classes 4, 5 and 6

Friday 13th Nov -  Nursery, Classes 1, 2 and 3

Friday 20th Nov -  Classes 4, 5 and 6

Friday 27th Nov -  Nursery Classes 1, 2 and 3

During December the stage will be up while we rehearse for our Christmas concert so there will not be any Show Me assemblies.

Dinners – A menu has been sent home so that you can see what is being served for lunch each day. The meals are very good and excellent value for money. Jamie Oliver would certainly have nothing to complain about with our meals!  A school meal costs £2 a day.

Please can all money be sent in to the class on a MONDAY in a named purse or envelope, even if only two or three meals are required during the week.  If you are claiming any benefits and think you may be eligible for Free School Meals do not hesitate to get in touch with Mrs Pedersen in the school office, or Mrs Dyson and we will guide you through the process.
